Printed Stretch Ceilings: Bespoke Visuals for Any Interior
The ceiling is usually the largest uninterrupted surface in a room, and it is often left blank. A printed stretch ceiling turns that surface into part of the design: a sky over a treatment room, artwork over a restaurant, brand graphics over a showroom. Here is how printed ceilings work and what to decide when specifying one.
How printed stretch ceilings work
Your image is printed onto a stretch membrane using high-definition UV printing, then the membrane is tensioned across a perimeter profile. Because the membrane is one continuous sheet, the image runs across the ceiling with no joins, grid lines or visible fixings.
PVC printed membranes: moisture-resistant, so suitable for bathrooms, pools and spas, and 100% recyclable.
Polyester printed membranes: a fabric-like matt finish installed at room temperature, well suited to large spans and refurbishments.
Backlit prints: printed on a translucent membrane with LED lighting behind, so the image glows rather than sitting flat.

Where printed ceilings work best
Healthcare and wellness: sky and nature prints can make treatment rooms and waiting areas feel calmer.
Hospitality: a signature ceiling in a lobby, bar or spa that guests remember.
Retail and showrooms: brand graphics at architectural scale, with the membrane replaceable when the look changes.
Education: themed ceilings for nurseries, libraries and sensory rooms.
High-end residential: starry-sky home cinemas, children's rooms and feature bathrooms.
What to decide at specification stage
Artwork: supply high-resolution files scaled to the ceiling, or work with us on the design. Check you hold the rights to any image you use.
Membrane: PVC for wet or humid rooms, polyester for large spans and a matt, fabric-like look, translucent if the print is to be backlit.
Acoustics: a printed decorative membrane is not an acoustic absorber. If the room needs reverberation control, discuss acoustic stretch areas alongside the print. Our polyester acoustic stretch is tested to Class A (αw 1.00).
Fire evidence: ask for the EN 13501-1 classification report for the chosen membrane and confirm it suits the building and location.
Lighting and services: plan downlights, sprinklers and vents early so they sit where they don't cut through key parts of the image.
